Stevie Edwards

Fridays from 1 - 4PM and Saturdays. 10 - 12

I started DJing in 1972….. having volunteered at Moorhill Youth Club, and later, using the club’s equipment that I built myself, to do weddings, birthdays and parties, out and about until 1976 when I was lucky enough to be offered a position alongside my mentors, Vic James and Johnny Dymond, and with Gary James, at Fridays Discotheque in London Road, Southampton, where I started on Saturday May 1st, 1976 — yep; Saints’ FA Cup win — and I stayed for twelve years, working varying nights, interspersed with resident gigs at Barbarella’s, Martine’s Basingstoke and Brooksie’s/Thursdays, near Chichester. Yeah, a disco-boy! And although that’s all in the past, some of it still creeps up and hits me over the head when I’m not looking.

My Friday Afternoon Show is laced with “different”. There’s so much music out there, it’s hard for me to play mainstream.

Madly humorous and borderline loonytoons about music. Facts and year data from an obtusely OCD mind — some of which just might actually be correct!

I call it the Start Your Weekend Show, so come get your pre-weekend music fix here, along with The Motown Segue and The Classic Rock Crush, but do NOT expect ‘normal’ or gentle. Note: do expect Edwards Errors with the buttons and faders…

I’m ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC, and I refuse to be quiet about it.

”C’mon Baggy, get with the beat!”
